FRAMEWORK FOR RECOVERY
On June 3rd,  The City of St. Catharines released its Framework for Recovery. 

The Recovery Plan outlines the strategic efforts to reintroduce services; reopen facilities; and support both residents and businesses as we adapt to a new post-COVID-19 'norm'.

The city is mapping a path forward towards recovery with:
- Four strategic stages
- Economic Development and Tourism plans
- Facilities and Amenities plans

ST. CATHARINES CULTURAL INVESTMENT PROGRAM (SCCIP) UPDATES

At its Council meeting on Wednesday June 3 2020, Council approved motions to: 
  • expedite funding to 2019 Sustaining - Core, Midsized and Festival grant recipients;
  • maintain SCCIP at the budgeted 2020 level of $400,000; and,
  • direct a portion of the $400,000 budget be used to create a temporary COVID fund for music, arts and cultural activities that support downtown revitalization and enhance public life during the recovery. 
2020 SCCIP PROGRAMS
 
Culture Days Activity Program (CDAP) - Applications were due in March 2020. Applicants will be notified of results in the summer .
 
Sustaining - Core, Midsized and Festival Expedited Funding Program - The deadline for this program will be June 22, 2020. The application review process will be expedited. Please note that only organizations that received Sustaining Program funding in 2019 may apply to this program.
 
St. Catharines Arts & Culture Community Revitalization Program  - Deadlines will be published in the coming weeks and program materials will be released soon after.

ONTARIO LIVE WEBSITE LAUNCHES - Organizations Can Now Sign Up for Listing
The Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Cultural Industries recently launched  Ontario.live . This website initiative is to support the broad sector during this time, and according to Minister Lisa MacLeod it will grow to be able to host different programs and resources such as concerts, virtual exhibitions, and presentations.  At this time, there is a listing of arts organizations, and we encourage organizations to sign up to be included on this resource.
