Community, Connections, Celebrations

We asked the children and youth of the congregation to take photos of themselves finding things to do during the pandemic. We want to share these images with members of our congregation who are likewise stranded in their homes. Perhaps the energy and creativity of our young people will inspire us all to cope with what Dr. Fauci calls "quarantine fatigue." Enjoy!

As we navigate our new reality, the
Safer Congregations Committee
is working on new protocols and guidelines, from the physical safety within/without our beloved facility to our emotional and physical safety. We are developing safe protocols for cleaning and disinfecting common areas and safe food handling, as well as safe internet policies.
Being quarantined and physical distancing affects us in different ways. To some, social isolation can increase feeling of sadness. To families already in conflict, it increases stress and emotional problems. Interpersonal violence and addictive behaviors (substance abuse, internet gaming/gambling) escalate during these times, with people feeling physically and emotionally trapped. If you or someone you know is in need of help, here are some resources:

FORMAL MINISTERIAL ENGAGEMENTS THROUGH THE WEEK
|
|
These are difficult times to be away from each other; our virtual connections on Sundays are wonderful, but perhaps not always sufficient. Accordingly, our ministers have developed activities through-out the week to provide outreach, connection, community, and spiritual sustenance. These will all continue at least through early June.
