Effective February 1
Second Floor Browsing: Library cardholders may reserve time to browse materials on the second floor for 20-minute appointments.
Children's Room Browsing: The Children’s Room is open to one family at a time, for 20-minute appointments with no ability to sit, play, etc.
- Monday 9-2
- Tuesday and Wednesday 5-8 pm
- Saturday 9-1
You will be required to wear a face covering while in the library building. Disposable masks are available in the lobby, along with hand sanitizer.
Foyer Browsing: Our foyer area is open for browsing and check out of materials during regular hours. You can still place requests remotely, and pick up contact-free.
Parking Lot Pick-Up: Just call us from the parking lot, open your trunk/back door, and we will place your items there.
Your returns are quarantined for 72 hours, and will not be checked in until after that quarantine period.
Computer Reservations: Call us at 497-2102 to make an appointment.

I Never Finish Anyth
Saturday, February 6 at 11am
This mid-morning virtual gathering is devoted both to brushing the dust off abandoned handicrafts and to the ancient communal pastime of reading aloud. Crafters will resurrect defunct projects, readers will provide live audio; get your craft on track while listening to readings from our collections. We need crafters, and we need readers!
Attendees should ready their UFOs & WIPs (UnFinished Objects & Works In Progress) and can work on their projects while they listen.

Clothed in Injustice? The Ethics of Fast Fashion

Have you ever wondered how it is possible that department stores and websites can offer clothing so cheaply? Why is it that the average cost of jeans today isn't much higher than it was 30 years ago? Why hasn’t the cost of producing jeans changed, and are there costs that aren’t being captured by the price consumers pay?
Join the Goffstown Public Library in partnership with Saint Anselm faculty for an in-depth discussion of the ethical, financial, theological, and environmental impacts of our modern-day, global fashion industry, inspired by the documentary, The True Cost. The Duty to Remember–But What? The Holocaust 80 Years After
Tuesday, February 16 at 6:30pm
Join us for this virtual presentation as Dr. Mick Grzonka provides historical context to the rise of Germany’s Nazi party and to subsequent events which culminated in the Holocaust. How were common, "normal" people induced to contribute to industrialized murder? Dr. Grzonka dispels four common myths which, if allowed to stand uncorrected, would make it all-too-easy to dismiss the events of the 1930s and 1940s as irrelevant for today's world.

The Play’s the Thing: Or is it?
Saturday, February 27 at 11am
Join us for this Saturday morning virtual gathering where we analyze, act out, and thoroughly dissect Parents Night by Bathsheba Doran. Copies will be available at the circulation desk for all registered participants. The curtain rises on a mother and father as they get ready to attend parent-teacher conferences at their daughter’s school. The story concludes several hours later, after their return from the school. Please note that Parent’s Night contains strong language and adult topics.
Yakov Smirnoff famously said, “If you have something important to say, Broadway and New York are great places to say it.” Are important statements still being made on Broadway? Do plays produced on Broadway speak to the American experience outside New York City? Do they have long-term relevance? Are lives lived on Broadway’s stages pertinent to life lived in New Hampshire?

In the latest episode of The Curious Reader podcast, Stacey and Melissa discuss the young adult book Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas. They also explore the questions that ignited their curiosity to seek information beyond the book such as: Day of the Dead celebrations, LGBTQIA+, and Latinx. Manchester Transit Authority provides on-demand service now available Monday through Friday, 9am to 2pm. Make a reservation directly with Manchester Transit Authority as early as 1 week prior, and at least 24 hours in advance.
Service will be provided on a first come first serve basis and will be available "curb to curb" from any location in the Town of Goffstown to any other location in the Town of Goffstown or any medical facility in the City of Manchester or Town of Bedford.
