Coffee with the Pastor

We are meeting back at Einstein Brothers - at the outside tables, if weather permits. Otherwise, we'll go over to Colonial Church and meet in the Heritage Room. See you on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m.

Church Building
Open by Appointment Only
Out of love for the Colonial community, the building will be open only to staff or by appointment so we will not answer the door. If you have something to drop off, please leave it in the bin outside the office door and we will regularly move items indoors. Contact Heather to schedule an appointment. Edson, our custodian, is taking extra efforts to disinfect rooms after each use.

In-Person Worship Resumes July 12

Colonial Church will resume an adapted worship service in the sanctuary beginning at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, which was the time selected in the recent Church Reopening Guidelines survey. There will be one service only to reduce the risk of infection from one service to the next. The 8:30 service will remain online (https://colonialucc.online.church/), and on YouTube beginning at the same time. In order to protect everyone worshiping in the building, a team has worked to adopt guidelines and safety protocols to reduce the risk. Look for more information in the coming weeks.

Summer Worship Series: Recovery

Sometimes you've got to get sick before you can start feeling better.
We all need to recover. We're been trapped in unhealthy living, and this virus has made it clear how sick we are. As individuals, communities, and a world, we need to recover. This summer, God's Spirit will speak healing words in our sermons inspired by the Twelve Step Program. The wisdom of this path may be exactly what we need right now.

"White Fragility" July Thursday Morning Study Group

White people in North America live in a social environment that protects and insulates them from race-based stress. To dismantle racism in our nation, white people must come to terms with our own and others' fragile, defensive, and coded responses when a conversation turns to race.

This July, our Colonial Church Thursday Study Group is going to read and discuss Robin DiAngelo's bestselling book White Fragility: Why It's So Hard For White People To Talk About Racism.
July 9 - "Facing White Supremacy"
July 16 - "How Race Shapes the Life of White People"
July 25 - "Disrupting Racist Patterns"

3 Steps to Participate:
1) Signup to take part in this study group at https://bit.ly/CCStudyGroupSU.
2) Order the book at https://bit.ly/CCWhiteFragility.
3) Meet online at 10:30am on Thursdays via Google Meet at https://bit.ly/CCStudyGrp.

Online Bible Study

Read Hebrews Chapter 13 for June 25. This is the last chapter of Hebrews. We're going to talk about hope! I think everyone could use a little of that these days.

We also need to think about what we may want to study next? I'm going to look for a Biblical study on racial justice, but I'm certainly open to other ideas.

We won't be meeting on July 2, and we'll be back with our new study on July 9. How are you feeling about meeting together physically? I was planning to just keep on with Zoom, but I wanted to check with you.

Our study is open to everyone.
You can join the Zoom Bible study at 10:30 a.m. Thursday online at
https://zoom.us/j/8796465039?pwd=NFFIMXZFbnJQQUVGMzJWRG9WT2tLUT09  with password 7039 or call in by calling 669-900-6833 with Meeting ID: 879 646 5039.

Your Support Matters

Even though our building is currently closed, our work together matters - to each other and to the community. We are needed more than ever.

Your pledges help Colonial to do its work. Counters are counting and we are making deposits.  You may mail in your pledge checks or any other payments. An easier alternative is to make contributions online.  You just fill in your banking information or provide a credit card and your name and email and what fund you are paying (Stewardship, food pantry, etc.) and the amount. Go to: https://colonialucc.breezechms.com/give/online

If you have any questions, you may email or call Heather in the office or Jayne Quimby, Financial Recorder.

Helping Our Neighbors

Artists Helping the Homeless: For the past few years, members of Colonial have purchased, prepared and helped serve an evening meal on the fourth Sunday of the month to support the program of Artists Helping the Homeless.
We look forward to returning to our former way of contributing to this program soon, but until that time, please support our homeless population with a donation to cover the cost of the meal. Pay through our website by going to   https://colonialucc.breezechms.com/give/online
Select AHH from the dropdown menu.

Food Donations:   The need for food is greater than ever. Consider donating to Cross-Lines Community Services or
