This Veterans Day, 2021

The gifts of LIFE with vision blessed and bold
This the giving within each Veteran's story told
Loyalty, dedication, ascending care be they known
This in valor by our sons and daughters shown
Courage to hold to freedom's call and light
In perseverance the challenge be it day or night
Fortitude, strength, imbued with heart's noble call
Sacrifices of body, limb, in this a growing toll
And when returned to home's welcomed shore and land
Let us in caring response put support in command
It is resolve that humanity calls to be known
Within the grasps of faith, love and TRUTH be shown
The dream yet dreamed shall unfold
And PEACE to be our story told
This gift of knowing to mark the rising way
And we in tribute give honor, honor, this Veterans Day.

Public Service Announcements

Piermont's Empire Hose Company #1 is raising funds for a memorial for their past member Thomas Pomplin and awareness to recognize his 1854 death as the first Line of Duty Death in the fire service in Rockland county.

Research done by Ex Chief Dan Goswick has shown that his untimely passing was directly as a result of his response to a fire in Nyack, but his death was never recorded as a LODD. They are working to fix that by getting this hero from our history officially recognized, and building a memorial to his selfless sacrifice that his descendants can visit.

Your donation will help give the Piermont Empire Hose Company #1 and FF Thomas Pomplin, and his ultimate sacrifice, the long overdue recognition it deserves.

If you did not sign up when the program started – or would like more information about your energy choices, you can join the Information Session on November 17. You can always get more information through the help line at 845 859-9099 option 1 or online at www.RocklandCommunityPower.com. The helpline is available Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
