Dragonflies at Night Has CELEBRITIES

Our romantic lead, Ben Shepherd, is an internationally-known celebrity. He first came to fame with the Broadway show, Ten Thousand Hearts, then went off on his own and performs in concert venues all over the world. He has won multiple Grammy Awards for his albums, and is also a prolific song writer.

Another celebrity in Dragonflies at Night is Jade Forsythe, a neighbor of Ben's who is a movie star in her own right. When Savannah visits Ben in L.A., they have lunch at Jade's house. Savannah is thrilled because Jade starred in one of her favorite films, Divine Intervention, which starred Robert Redford (!) and was a key factor in helping her to heal after her parents died when she was a teenager.

Towards the end of the novel, you'll also hear mention of some Broadway celebrities:
Lin-Manuel Miranda and Gavin Creel.
Dragonflies at Night Also Has CELEBRATIONS

Savannah Adams, our romantic heroine, owns a party planning business called Life Celebrations. Her business partner is her best friend Andi, and there are three co-workers as well. Savannah's degree is in theatre education, but after an emotional divorce and her move back home to take care of "Auntie Zan," she created Life Celebrations in honor of her mother who died when she was 15. And besides all that, she's really, really good at planning creative parties!

Did you notice that celebrity and celebration are both formed from the same root? I didn't realize this until I was halfway through, and now I marvel at the synchronicity! Pretty cool, eh? He's a celebrity; she plans celebrations.

Also at one point, Ben points out to Savannah that she is an introvert who loves planning parties, while he is an extrovert who is a terrible host. How about that for a perfect match?
And What's This About a Very Special CEMETERY?

Since Savannah's parents died when she was a teenager, she often visits them where they are buried. There are two scenes between Ben and Savannah in Dragonflies at Night that take place in that cemetery, but don't worry—this isn't a horror story. One scene is a light-hearted "meet the parents" setting, and the other is... well, I'm not going to divulge that info. You'll have to read the book, but I think you'll really love it.
Anne Marie Bennett’s DRAGONFLIES AT NIGHT is an expansive,
gorgeously designed and beautifully written book
for anyone who has ever hoped
that soulmates and love-at-first-sight were possible.
