In Tennessee and in parts of nearby states, TVA's Green Power Providers (GPP) program is the only viable way to sell solar generation to the local power company. Unfortunately, TVA is closing the program to new projects after 12/31/19. Current GPP participants' 20-year agreements will not be affected.
If we have not already submitted your project request form to TVA, and you
want to build a solar project next year to sell your solar energy to the grid, please let us know ASAP. TVA allows 6 months to build for existing buildings, and 12 months to build for new construction.
To allow time for local power companies and TVA to process and approve your Capacity Reservation Request form by the end of this year, LightWave Solar needs to have your project contract signed before December 16, preferably sooner!
