2021 Friends of Scouting Challenge Grants
The 2021 Friends of Scouting (FOS) appeal continues in the New Year.
District and board volunteers meet online each Wednesday in January and February at 500pm Brussels time. Please join us if you'd like to learn more or share ideas. Here is the Zoom meeting link. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85694827021
We are expecting to raise $240,000 by the end of February. To date, we have raised over $120,000.
A challenge grant of $10,000 by an anonymous TAC board member helped TAC raise another $10,000 during the last week in December.
A district challenge grant was made by TAC Board Member Paul Ostling at the 16 January TAC board meeting. Any district which reaches its FOS goal by 1 March will trigger another $3,000 of FOS support from Mr. Ostling.
Congratulations to Horizon District for being the first district to reach its FOS goal and qualify for this grant.
Which district is next?
Friends of Scouting efforts support stronger camp programs, engaged volunteers, insurance coverages, program supplies, membership and advancement records, trained staff, and much more.
You can take part in FOS by making your gift or pledge now.

Unit Fundraising - Scout-a-thon 2021
Scout-a-thon has proven to be an effective fundraising tool for units..... and by popular demand..... in 2021 your unit will have opportunities to participate in the Spring and the Fall.
Troop 240 raised $2,975 while Pack 295 raised $2,250 in Scout-a-thon 2020. They used their innovation and creativity for some really great activities for their members..... and raised a bunch of money while operating in a COVID-19 safe manner.
Every dime that units raise through Scout-a-thon goes into their Unit Account for use in purchasing advancement items, paying camp fees, or registration fees for new members. In addition, there is a prize program that every Scout an qualify..... and the council pays for the processing fees, and prizes of the program.
Recruit a Scout-a-thon coordinator for your unit today.... plan a great activity, have some fun, and raise some dollars.
Scout-a-thon 2021 Spring - will run from February 1 - April 30
Scout-a-thon 2021 Fall - will be open from August 15 through Nov 30
