A Note on January 4, 2022
Details emerged yesterday that the new cutoff date for being fully vaccinated OR having your medical or religious exemption paperwork filed has been pushed back to January 4, 2022. We are also hearing many of you are stressed by this and assume your company pushed this date back just to end up firing you after the holiday travel is over. Please allow us to put your stress at ease.
We view this move back to January 4 as a good thing! To be clear, this new date is being altered by the White House and government at large, NOT the airlines. This new date affects everyone: airlines, healthcare workers, first responders, etc, and now also any company with 100+ employees. While we are no cheerleader of management's handling of this entire mandate fiasco, assuming they moved this date back just to fire you after the holidays is unfounded at this time.
In fact, this development is good news! This new date allows a full six additional weeks for you to file your paperwork for religious and medical exemptions. This also allows our lawsuit to get traction in court (and the media). Lastly, this allows more time for news regarding the side effects of the vaccine to come out along with any potential therapeutics that you may deem as acceptable accommodations.
In short, more time is good for us, and it is good for you. We understand this whole mandate rollout has been a disaster and has caused you incredible amounts of stress. This does not mean, however, that any and every new development is to be viewed with a doomsday view.
Keep the faith, keep fighting, and hold the line.
