We're having a prayer meeting on Zoom this Friday at 12pm PT / 3pm ET. We'd love for you to join us. Email prayer@hopeunlimited.orgfor the meeting information.
Praises from Campinas:
Our thrift stores are now open from 10AM to 5PM. This is good news for our thrift stores, which provides approximately 30% of our operating budget and had been closed since mid-March, then reopened for only four hours a day since July 27th.
Praise Pr. Roberto and Amanda's first daughter, Emanuele. She was born on August 12th. Pr. Roberto is the Youth Pastor at our Graduate Church and Amanda is our Conquerors and Graduate Program Coordinator at the City of Youth in Campinas. Pray for wisdom as they raise this precious newborn.
We are blessed by the space we have at the City of Youth to keep our kids mentally and physically healthy during social isolation. Last weekend they had a great picnic together by the soccer field. Even though it’s winter in Brazil, they had the chance to go swimming this week because temperatures have been between 70˚ and 87˚!
New Bibles donated by a Brazilian donor have been distributed to all of our kids by Pr. Derli and we started a new daily devotional with them on Monday (08/10). Pray that the Lord speaks to them as many are new and had never heard about Christ before coming to Hope.
Prayer Requests from Campinas
Schools were expected to be reopening again on September 8, but the government of Sao Paulo has decided to extend it again to October 7th. Keep praying for our team of educators and house parents as they continue to homeschool our children.
Pray for Kayki, a new student who just arrived at Hope on August 17th. We don’t know a lot about him yet, but we know that he is fourteen years old, he has an intellectual disability and he has a hard time adapting to new routines in his life. Pray for wisdom for our team as we welcome Kayki to our City of Youth family and pray that he adapts to our routine and feels at home as soon as possible.
"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
