Welcome
Dear Crossroads Students and Families,
I have also created a Student Corner Instagram account that the students can follow for updates and resources. You and your students can follow it:
@crossroads_studentcorner
.
I hope that you are all navigating this difficult time well and that you are staying healthy.
As I continue praying for you all, if you have any specific prayer requests, submit them
here
so that I, and other Intersect guides, can pray for you. Jesus loves you.
Blessings,
Kylie Kosko and Team

Weekly Scripture Reflection:
Ephesians 4:2, 31-32 NLT
"Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you."
|
|
|
Weekly Scripture Reflection Questions:
Recall a moment this week where your patience ran low within your household.
- What would it look like to make allowances for one another's faults in that situation?
- How could you have shown love to that person?
- In what ways could you have shown kindness and tenderheartedness rather than bitterness and anger?

Intersect Activity
4/25/2020
|
|
|
It has been 45 days since schools first closed down and “social distancing”, “flattening the curve”, and “pandemic” became part of our vocabulary. Our lives have looked incredibly different during these days. Feelings of loss, fear, and disappointment will still come from time-to-time and feelings are different for everyone. However, even while we are still in the struggle, it can be comforting and inspiring to look back at how far we have come, what we have learned, and how we have grown!

Fun Activities to Fight Cabin Fever!
If you have been on a walk recently, you may have seen painted rocks scattered around the neighborhood. This week I recommend painting some rocks! You can paint rocks of encouragement, or just make some cool art for your gardens. If you need ideas, here are a few.

A Prayer During the Pandemic
By Cameron Bellm
May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those that have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country,
let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen.

Mask Making
Government Officials are now encouraging everyone to wear cloth masks when in public spaces. This makes the need for masks even greater.
Jill Hughes, part of the Crossroads community, has asked for help in producing the masks. Jill needs volunteers to wash, iron and cut fabric.
Jill will provide mask making kits in increments of 10, complete with pre-cut fabric, elastic ear loops and instructions. Once completed and returned, we will sanitize the masks and deliver them.

Letter Writing
One way to stay connected is to write a note or card of support and friendship to our very own Marie Poole. Marie is 97 years old and lives independently. Marie is not able to watch worship on line, so she is missing her Crossroads family very much. Since we can't visit in person right now, we know Marie would love a note from you!
Please send letters to Crossroads at: Crossroads UMC, Attn: Marie Poole, 43454 Crossroads Drive, Ashburn, VA 20147
