Orange Parking Plan

In light of the need to start school in our orange learning plan, we are opening up temporary parking spots to hopefully ease some of the obstacles this model may put on your morning commute.

A few notes:
  • Temporary spots will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no lottery.
  • Temporary spots will cost $15.00 and will include a temporary hang tag for your car. You will not need to purchase until it is confirmed you have a temporary spot.
  • Under this plan, sophomores with a valid driver’s license may apply. A photo copy of your license must be submitted at the time of application. You must wait until you have your driver’s license to apply.
  • If you already signed up to be in a carpool in the May parking lottery, your carpool situation has already been taken into account under the Orange Parking Plan. What this means, if you are a “Red Day” Student – it is still your responsibility to transport all “Red Day” students in your carpool. If there is a driver in your carpool that is a “Gold Day” student, that student is responsible for transporting all “Gold Day” students to school in the carpool. Any student who signs up for a temporary pass that is already in a carpool risks losing the permanent spot.
  • Once Bishop Watterson returns to a yellow or green plan, temporary parking students will no longer be allowed to park in the temporary spot. Failure to comply can result in parking fines as outlined in the student handbook.
  • Your spot and payment information will be emailed to you once you have been approved for a temporary parking space by Mrs. Bowman.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Bowman at mrs.bowman@bwhs.org.

Click on the button below to apply for a temporary spot. Only student bwhs.org emails can access the form.

Getting Ready for Back-to-School

Busing: Some districts that are starting the year with remote education only are determining whether they will provide busing to non-public schools. If you are not certain please check with your district.

Backpacks: Students will be permitted to use backpacks as we start the school year.

Haircuts: A reminder that traditional hairstyles are permitted and hair must be a natural color. Boys’ hair must be off the ear, above the collar and above the eyebrows.

Masks: We will be providing two masks for each student. You may want to have more available to rotate and clean. Masks other than what we provide must be a solid color or a blue or yellow surgical mask.

School Supplies: Teachers will provide lists to students during phase-in week.

Uniforms: Students will be in uniform (warm weather attire) starting with phase-in week.

Schedules Available
Student schedules can now be viewed in PowerSchool.

Due to COVID-19 capacities and managing the number of students in overflow rooms, schedule changes will be very limited this year. No elective changes are possible. In the cases listed below, a schedule change may be made:
1)    An error in your schedule. Errors include not having the correct pre-requisite class, missing a class required for graduation or required by your college for admission, in a class that you have already received credit for, or in an incorrect class (i.e. English 10 instead of English 9). Errors do not include being placed in your alternate elective choice instead of your first choice.
2)    A student in an honors or AP class may request to change to the CPI level.
3)    A class can be dropped for a study hall if you do not have a study hall.

Please contact your counselor by email if you need a change due to one of these issues. All schedule changes must be complete by Friday, September 4.

Lunch 2020-21

We are making changes to our lunch routine for the school year. Students will eat lunch either in the cafeteria or a gymnasium in order to comply with social distancing requirements.

Cafeteria food service will be provided with additional safety measures in place, including:
  • No cash will be accepted this year. Instead, All payments must be made through eFunds electronic lunch accounts. Families who would like to purchase food but have not yet established an account should do so now. Instructions can be found on our website on the Student Life menu. Click Lunch Menu. We recommend you set up negative-balance notices to receive an email when the account is empty.
  • Families who had unpaid eFunds balances from March need to pay the balance.
  • Microwaves and extra utensils will no longer be available for students who carry lunch to school.
