Suggestion Forms for Bishop Coadjutor Will Be Available This Monday, February 1
Announcement from the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina
|
|
The Right Reverend Mark J. Lawrence, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina, announced his plan to call for a bishop coadjutor on July 9, 2020.
God willing, the Bishop’s Search Committee will begin receiving suggestions for names of potential bishop candidates on February 1st, and the Committee asks you to continue to pray for us and for our diocese, as we begin this next phase of the selection process.
According to the protocols of the Anglican Church in North America, the selection process for a bishop has three steps, beginning with open suggestions from the laity and clergy of ACNA.
- The first step will be accepting all suggestions for names for the process. Anyone inside or outside our diocese may suggest a person for consideration as a bishop coadjutor.
- The Bishop’s Search Committee will then prayerfully consider every suggestion submitted. A smaller list will be selected to continue in the selection process as a “Nominee.” The Nominees will be interviewed by the Committee and after prayer and intercession a smaller list of nominees will be presented to the Standing Committee for consideration.
- The Standing Committee will then make the final decision as to who will become “Candidates” to be presented to the Diocese. The Special Convention Delegates will then cast their ballots on October 16, 2021, for a Bishop Coadjutor who, after a season with Bishop Lawrence, will become the next Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina.
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a Bishop for this Diocese that we may receive a faithful pastor who will preach the Gospel, care for your people, equip us for ministry, and lead us forth in fulfillment of the Great Commission; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ––2019 Book of Common Prayer, ACNA

Water Mission’s 15th Annual Walk for Water:
Walk So Others Don’t Have To
from watermission.org
Save the date: March 20 at Riverfront Park in OR location of your choice
|
|
Today, you’ll likely use water countless times—to drink, cook, shower, brush your teeth, flush the toilet, and more—without worrying whether the water is safe.
More than 2.2 billion people around the world lack access to clean, safe water. Every day, millions of women and children walk more than three miles to collect water that is often contaminated—exposing their families to dangerous waterborne diseases.
As we enter into this new year, we invite you to join us to help more families around the globe receive access to clean, safe water. With the 15th Annual Walk for Water scheduled for March 20 in Charleston, we’re reminded that, even in this unprecedented season, we still have the opportunity to serve others.
While this year’s Walk may look a little different, the mission remains the same: Bringing awareness and raising funds to end the global water crisis.
Keep an eye on your eSPIRE for information about joining Team St. Philip's! This year, walkers will have two options: (1) Register for a specific time slot at Riverfront Park (spots are limited), or (2) walk virtually at a location and time of your choice.

Men, Are You Ready?
Wild at Heart Basic Bootcamp at Camp St. Christopher
February 25-28, 2021
|
|
A man needs a deeper understanding of his masculine heart—and why God made him just like that. What if those deep desires in our hearts are telling us the truth, revealing to us the lives we were meant to live? A man must know he is powerful; he must know he has what it takes. The way we handle the heart is everything. Basic is not a retreat about the “seven things a man ought to do to be a nicer guy.” It is a four-day quest into the recovery of a man’s masculine soul, the release of a man’s heart—his passions and his true nature—all given him by God.
