Conserved property fosters education and research

Follow a mowed path uphill at 76-acre Glover's Ledge, and you'll pass a picnic pavilion on your way to a forest opening with big white pine trees at its center. Birds flit about, and you may hear rustling in the dense, low-growing bushes. If you choose to take one of the many twists and turns off the main path, you could find ...

Summer program helps youth feel connected

Kids Connect! is our farm-based, outdoor program that's designed to be affordable (free!) and accessible for children in our community who might not otherwise get such opportunities. We partner with local social services agencies, and the program inspires youth to be active, eat vegetables, and work together with others. Photos from our days on the farm will be posted on Facebook each week; check them out!

Summer is in full swing! Field staff, along with the help of dedicated volunteers, are out meeting landowners and walking property boundaries to ensure our conservation agreements are being honored. It's also a chance to note any changes in the land and its use, and answer questions.

Meanwhile, our events and outreach staff are hosting lots of great walks and social gatherings, and next week our kids program gets underway. Thank you for helping make it all possible!

With gratitude,

Ryan Owens
