OCTOBER
2021
Witches are one of the most traditional as well as mysterious entities we associate with Halloween. The origin of the word "witch" isn’t entirely known, but it's thought that the word meant “wise one." During the Middle Ages, the male heads of the Christian Church saw witches’ knowledge of the natural world as a threat to the Church’s authority. As one historian put it, women did not fit into the early Church hierarchy.

Join Ehris and Velya Urban, of the Grounded Good Wife duo, as they delve into the history of witches and Halloween, in If the Broom Fits, via Zoom on Wednesday, October 20 at 6 PM. Please register to receive the Zoom link/password
