Chamber Connection
August 2021
Dear Chamber,
Summer feels like it just started, and now it’s already coming to an end! Perhaps it was because the summer started with a sense that things were returning to normal, but then uncertainties about the Delta variant have left us behind where we were hoping to be.

I know that many of you share these feelings of anxiety and frustration with me, but we all must continue being resilient and innovative. I assure you that our entire Chamber team is committed to continuing to find the best resources and funding opportunities for you, plan the best programming, and everything else that we need to do to keep you and your businesses afloat and ready to re-emerge when this is all behind us.

While August tends to be a rather slow month, be assured that in the fall we will be rolling out very specific programs that will be direct assistance to you and your businesses.

In the meanwhile, consider getting vaccinated if you haven’t, wear your mask in all public places, avoid super spreader events, and keep working towards the bright future we will create together.
BUSINESS LEGAL STRUCTURES WEBINAR RECAP

Earlier this month, we teamed up with Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR) to offer a webinar about determining the correct legal structure for a business. If you missed the session and you’re unsure whether you're better off as a sole proprietor, C-Corp, S-Corp, Benefit Corp, or LLC, watch this recording with LCR’s Priya Lane, Esq. for useful information!
GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

Our Chamber scans for grant programs for which our small business members might be eligible and shares these opportunities as they become available.

Recently, we encouraged members to fill in a survey so that we could determine their eligibility for two grants available through the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC): “Empower Digital” and “BIZ-M-POWER.”

This week Grubhub announced that it would offer grants to restaurants and other businesses serving food. The application process for these grants begins September 9! More information to come.
