Women of Wonder (WOW) is proud to exhibit a sample of their quilts, paintings, beadwork, journals, surface design and knitted objects at the Norman Williams Public Library.  Since they shared a local quilting class ten years ago by quilt artist Dianne Hire of Maine, WOW has met monthly to share projects, feedback and support. In those ten years of camaraderie, members have been on a creative journey, occasionally exhibiting their work in quilts and other media. Books and Tents and Mac (no cheese!)
Friday & Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 9am-2pm

We collect books all year long and save the best for our Bookstock sale! We've sorted and priced over 200 banana boxes of books (translation: a LOT of books), all ready for a great read by someone like you.

Find great books for sale in two places: the end of The Green in the big "Book Sale" tent* -- and in the library where Mac's vintage books sale may turn up that rare find you've been hankering for. Mac is a great resource for the library and book buyers alike. He can help you find a special book for a gift or lend an ear to what you want for your own shelf.

*(tent sale proceeds are split between NWPL and the North UU Chapel, our partner in the tent sale)

No Reading Groups this Summer

We will resume book groups in the September, after everyone gets back from their summer reading.
Bring It On!
We are all set for our big Bookstock Book Sale Extravaganza! Now the library is once again able to receive book donations moving forward. We appreciate your patience with our temporary ban, but we are back open for business and happy to once again receive all your book donations.
Thank you for your generosity!

Now through August 14
Photography of Joanna Garbisch
Photographer Joanna Garbisch's interest in photography started in college when she was handed a Polaroid Camera for an art class. On graduating, she went to work for Polaroid's color lab in Cambridge, MA. In the early '60s, Dr. Land switched his attention from black and white to color, so in the lab Joanna and colleagues made the developer, positive and negative film from dyes and chemicals supplied by chemists. Within a year she was sent out to test the film in the real world and she never looked back.  Over the years she has traveled and seen the world through the lens.

Woodstock Welcomes a New Library Executive Director
Library staff, trustees, patrons, and the whole town is making sure the director of the library gets a warm "Woodstock style" welcome. Amanda Merk, the library's new executive director, arrived on July 10, and she is already well on her way to meeting everyone in Woodstock!
Trustees and staff got to know Amanda better at a cocktail reception at the home of Anne Debevoise, library trustee. Amanda also attended "Lobsters on the Green" last weekend where she got a chance to meet many members of the community and see how much fun Woodstockers like to have.
If you haven't had a chance to meet Amanda yet, please stop in to the library to say hello.
