It was my great honor and privilege to have been interviewed by the world-renowned anchor of NBC Nightly News, Lester Holt.
The reason for the interview has to do with the date of its airing, January 27th. It was on this date, back in 1945, that Russian troops liberated the Nazi death camp of Auschwitz, which at the time was located in Nazi-controlled Poland. Over one million men, women & children were gassed to death there.
I am a child survivor of the notorious Concentration Camp Bergen-Belsen in Germany. Although over 50,000 people lost their lives in Bergen-Belsen, there was no gas chamber, and no tattooing of numbers on the arm.
For over 20 years I have been speaking in schools, public, private, and parochial, about my Holocaust experiences, I always end my talks with the admonition to be good and kind to one another, regardless of religious belief, color of the skin or national origin.
