The Purple Star designation recognizes Schultz's commitment to serve our military-connected students and families. "Each Child, Our Future, Ohio's strategic plan for education, recognizes the importance of supporting the needs of the whole child. To be successful in school and when transitioning between school settings, Ohio's military-connected youth require particular supports to ensure their unique social, emotional and academic needs are met." The Purple Star Award Schultz has received signifies our demonstrated commitment to serving these students and their families.

Fall Mum Fundraiser
Fall fundraiser is on NOW! All orders are due on Tuesday, September 14th. Online ordering is easy! Reach out to the PTO if you need your student's code. The profits from the sale will go directly towards supporting Schultz students and staff.

Mark your calendars! The first PTO meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, September 14th @ 7pm.  

                                


The Mobile Dentist is coming to Schultz Elementary School
 on Monday, September 13, 2021.
If your child does not receive regular dental care or schedules are too hectic to take them to their regular dentist, here is an excellent option! Please complete the consent forms that were sent home the week of August 23rd, and return to school by Friday, September 3, 2021. Care includes exam, cleaning, fluoride treatment, sealants and x-rays (as needed). For specific questions, feel free to call Ohio Dental Outreach at (888)833-8441.
It is important that you complete your student's Back to School Forms. This insures that we have the most reliable, up to date information regarding your 
child in our system.


The forms can be completed by logging into your
 PowerSchool Parent Portal  (Click here for instructions).

If you need assistance logging into your account, please call the Schultz office at 
740-833-1400.

School Hours

Elementary school hours are 8:30 am - 3:15 pm
The building will open at 8:00 am for students eating breakfast
All other students enter the building at 8:20 am
Tardy bell rings at 8:30 am

Absence Reporting Procedure

Safe Arrival Attendance System
Delaware City Schools uses the Safe Arrival absence reporting system. Parents can report absences quickly using one of the three methods below:
1) Call the School Messenger toll free number (1-844-817-5313)
to report absences prior to the start of the school day.
2) Log into the website go.schoolmessenger.com to access a 
Safe Arrival Parent Portal, where an account can be set up to report absences.
(The email used to set up the account must match the email the school has on file.)
3) If you have an Android or Apple device, the School Messenger app can be downloaded, and absences can be reported via the app.

Delaware City Schools offers free meals to all students, thanks to waivers provided by the USDA for the 2021-22 school year. All enrolled students in DCS are eligible to receive one free breakfast and lunch per day.
Elementary School Fees
     Kindergarten, First, & Second grades  -   $22
            Third, Fourth & Fifth grades   -   $27

Parent Communication

There are several ways to receive information about Schultz
Elementary School and Delaware City Schools. Please check out the following:
  • District website: www.dcs.k12.oh.us
  • Text Messages: to receive text messages from DCS, opt in by texting the word YES to 67587 from the phone on which you want to receive the message.  The number must match the number we have listed in your students' contact file.  If you receive a message that the number is not in the DCS system, please contact the Schultz office and request to add your number or make a change to the number we have on file 
  • Schultz E-Mail List:   to be redirected to the DCS website and sign up to receive Schultz and DCS newsletters, special bulletins and other important information from Schultz Elementary School (check spam folder first time receiving).
