To our CASA on the Catwalk Committee Members, Table Hosts, Ticket Holders, and Supporters,

We appreciate your patience and understanding of the postponement of the 2020 CASA on the Catwalk event.   As we have searched for feasible options to hold a 2020 CASA on the Catwalk event, there remain many unknown variables, the least of which is asking you, our supporters, to make difficult decisions about your health, safety, and competing demands. We are comforted by the fact that a large showing of support comes in many different forms and we will be providing an opportunity for all of our supporters, invited guests, special hosts, and honored guests a way to experience how the dollars raised by this event result in advocacy all across the state.

In a few weeks, each of you will receive an invitation to participate in a virtual experience showcasing the impact of CASA volunteers.  This experience will include a special tribute to our sponsors, hosts, and committee members who made this event possible, and despite the unexpected turn of events, have helped to meet critical needs with the funds raised to date. And t hanks to our silent auction donors , we will also have opportunities to bid on specially-curated packages, available for online auction.  The auction will be open to anyone and accessible for two weeks.

These last 13 weeks have shown us yet again the compassion and commitment of more than 3,000 advocates in response to the immediate needs of children and their caregivers, regardless of physical distance or proximity.  CASA volunteers have continued to bring critical and timely information to the attention of the court and DFCS and push for action when needed.  New volunteers are being trained and prepared to advocate for children as they are removed from their homes. But most importantly, children in foster care have a caring and consistent adult who makes sure that they are connected, encouraged, and assured amidst uncertainty and loss.  We couldn't have continued this level of advocacy during a public health emergency without your support.

We would deeply appreciate it if your table or ticket purchase would be converted to a tax-deductible donation to Georgia CASA.   Your generous gift helps to ensure that CASA volunteers can continue to provide advocacy for more than 11,000 children annually.   Because of your support, we are $10,000 away from the event goal.  If a donation of any amount is a hardship, we will provide a refund, if requested by June 30.

Please remember there are always ways you can help keep CASA and our signature event in mind:
  • Let your invited guests know how to stay connected by sharing this update
  • Show support for event sponsors and donors listed here
  • Share the invitation for the virtual appreciation experience with your invited guests, friends, and family, when available
  • Keep up with us on social media:
A special thank you to Sandy Day and Jennifer Dunaway, Event Co-Chairs, for their expertise, time, and passion for this beloved event.
