Dear Frien ds of The Blue Purl,

Yes, there has been an upside to this lockdown-era.

For many of us, it has been a time to recognize and be thankful for what we have, our homes, our families, our friends, our work, and our communities.

It has not been easy, for anyone, but it has forced us all to slow things down, click-off autopilot and focus on what matters.

We know that you matter. And we hope that you feel the same about The Blue Purl.

We have tried to meet your needs in this topsy-turvy time. We keep building out our website and online store; we are offering zoom classes; and we are opening the shop to serve you in as healthy and responsible a way as we can.

In some ways, as the weather these last days has been glorious; with shops opening and roads once again filling up with traffic, it can easily feel like we are settling into the new normal.

Even facemasks are starting to feel routine, and for some a new form of self-expression (Just ask Keri, our #1 Yankees Fan).

But this is, of course, still a work in progress. We look forward to the day when we can really just get back to it, sit at the tables together and enjoy each other in person.

Step by step.

So please, as we continue to tweak or rethink how we serve you, let us know what we can do better or differently. We are eager for new, creative solutions. We know that there are still kinks in our system with occasional busy phone lines (argh!) and technical challenges with our zoom classes (darn). We assure you we are working, working, working to get it all right, everyday, for you.

Think of how far we have already come together.

Think of how we have persevered, together.

Think of how much more we can accomplish, together.

Thank you for hanging in their with us.
We are as committed to you, as ever.

Now, if only the baseball season would start!

Purl Strings by Heidi Kirrmaier

Radiance Tank
The Radiance Tank by Rebecca McKenzie is knit in the round from bottom up with a 3-needle bind-off at the shoulders, requiring no seaming. With a simple lace detail at the bottom and back of the neck, we recommend Shibui Fern or Kelbourne Mojave for a lovely drape. For a slightly thicker feel, you can substitute with Cascade Ultra Pima or Sublime Isla.

Summer Time Throws and Baby Blankets

Want some knitting without thinking about shaping or sizing? Try a small throw or baby blanket. On the Porch throw, using just simple knits & purls to create modern texture would be great in Blue Sky Printed Organic Cotton.

The Bubble Baby Blanket (free on Ravelry) keeps the knitting interesting with these fun bubbles throughout the piece. We love Blue Sky Organic Cotton for this.
A little help from our friends at Berroco
Dropshipping
From Berroco: We are aware that many of our LYS have had to temporarily close their doors for their safety in accordance with regulations from their governors. We recognize it's a difficult time for many of our brick and mortar shops. Many shops are transitioning to curbside and e-commerce options but we wanted to help them offer something more! We are happy to introduce Berroco 123 DropShip, to ship Berroco yarns directly to your home.

Isn't that great! Here (click in) is how it works ... you find what you want and then call us and we'll place your order and they'll ship it. This week's drop ship free patterns are the Moderne and Solaria blankets by Norah Gaughan. Both blankets are knit with Berroco Comfort and Comfort Chunky and the patterns are in the Comfort Knitting & Crochet for Babies and Toddlers booklet. That means you get 50 blankets for the price of 1 kit!

Call us- 973 377-5648 or email to get the free pattern booklet with yarn purchase through us.
