Iteris
Next® to be featured with I-74 Mississippi Bridge project
The I-74 Mississippi River Bridge project is part of a regional strategy for improving access across the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities. It includes the replacement of the I-74 bridge over the Mississippi River as well as interchange ramp reconfigurations and local roadway improvements. Construction began in July 2017 and is anticipated to take place over 3 1/2 years.
When the portion of the bridge project for Moline, IL was bid, it required multiple "WIDE AREA VIDEO DETECTION SYSTEMS" and the Iteris Next® was chosen for this project. Five intersections and ramps will feature these systems and MoboTrex is proud to be part of this project.

During the Super Bowl in 2013, play was interrupted for 34 minutes because of power problems that affected lighting, communications, and other systems. A league official had stated that "...a power surge caused the outage" when in fact the actual cause was traced to the mis-operation of a relay in the stadium's power distribution system.
The official's choice of words reflects a common misunderstanding of an important power quality term.
To promote proper understanding, this week's Tuesday Traffic Talk defines the term "surge" together with the term "Surge Protective Device" (SPD).
