Tips Raise more than $18,000 for local causes

September 5, 2018

Alive After Five ended it's 2018 summer season with a terrific concert just one week ago, but fans still have something to celebrate. Tips donated at the beverage stations totaled more than $18,000 for the season. The Downtown Boise Association will distribute the donations to the three local nonprofits who provided this year's volunteer support for Alive After Five; the Women's and Children's Alliance, CATCH: Charitable Assistance to the Community's Homeless, and the Boise Firefighters Burnout Fund.

Alive After Five, Presented by Delta Air Lines and supported by the Capital City Development Corporation, celebrated it's 32 season with 13 weeks of free summer concerts on The Grove Plaza each Wednesday June through August. Volunteers from each of the three nonprofits helped staff the beverage booths.

"Alive After Five brings people together to enjoy live music, and to celebrate and build community in the heart of our city, our downtown. Fan support for Tips for Charity shares that community spirit and truly helps make this free summer concert series possible. The members and merchants of the Downtown Boise Association, along with our DBA staff are proud to be a part of it," said Lynn Hightower, Executive Director of the Downtown Boise Association. DBA staff produces Alive After Five.

The Downtown Boise Association wants to thank all those who help make Alive After Five possible. In addition to Presenting Sponsor Delta Air Lines, and support from the Capital City Development Corporation, Alive After Five is supported by the Boise Weekly, KBOI-TV Channel 2, the Idaho Business Review, the Riverside Hotel, CP Audio, Go Listen Boise, and Liquid. Beverage partners this year include Pepsi, Mother Earth Brew Company, Payette Brewing Company, Deschutes Brewery, Sierra Nevada, Samuel Adams, Tecate, Sawtooth Estate Winery, Precept Wine, Mikes Hard Lemonade, and White Claw Hard Seltzer.

For more than 30 years, the Women's & Children's Alliance has been at the forefront of providing services to women, men and their children healing from domestic abuse and sexual assault. Since its founding, the WCA's crisis program has evolved into one of the most vital, unduplicated, comprehensive programs in our community and region.
