Information on Quarantine Remote Classrooms
As we settle into the new school year, District 65 would like to provide better understanding of what students and families can expect in the event that their child needs to quarantine and participate in remote learning during that time. The District is committed to providing access to standards aligned learning allowing students to stay connected, continue their learning, and transition back into their grade level classroom with minimal loss of learning. Students who have COVID-19 or are identified as close contacts (if unvaccinated) must quarantine at home for 10-14 days as directed by the local health department. Students must have clearance from the health department in order to return to school.

COVID-19 Testing Starts this Week!
Last Friday, Superintendent Horton shared an important update regarding health and safety measures in the district. As part of this update, D65 is happy to report that we have received the necessary software to complete student rostering for testing and we have received the tentative testing schedules from our partners at SHIELD. Testing has begun in some schools this week and the remainder of schools will begin testing next week. This week, parents/caregivers should have received communication from the building principal regarding the schedule and procedures for testing. We thank you for your patience and understanding in the coming weeks as we work diligently to streamline and refine the testing process for our school communities!

Reminder: Opt-In to Receive Important Documents via PowerSchool
District 65 Families - did you know that you can receive copies of your students’ progress reports and report cards online via our new student information system, PowerSchool? All you have to do is opt-in to receive these documents online! The process is simple, straightforward, and is available to review in English and Spanish. All families must opt-in to document delivery in their PowerSchool parent portal account to receive these types of documents from District 65. With middle school progress reports being released on Wednesday, October 6, this is the best time to become even more familiar with PowerSchool and use the system to stay updated on your child’s progress. Looking to learn more about the PowerSchool parent portal? D65 has you covered! We’ve created an entire webpage dedicated to the platform.
