Meet IEA's Newest Staff Members:
Isabella Von Habsburg - Membership Office
Kate Tuma - Marketing & Communications Intern
The IEA Membership Office is excited to introduce the newest member of the Membership Office team - ISABELLA VON HABSBURG.

Isbella has spent most of her life around horses, having grown up riding and competing at Twin Lakes Farm in Bronxville, NY. In 2018, she received her Bachelor of Science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and recently graduated from New York University with a Master of Science degree in Sports business. Isabella is the writer of Isa's Sports Insights, where she shares her opinions on sports - focusing on gender inequality. "I am so excited to be working with IEA and can't wait to do my part!", she says.

Welcome to IEA, Isabella!
The IEA Marketing and Communications Office is happy to introduce you to our newest intern, KATE TUMA.

Hailing from North Olmstead, OH, Kate is currently a Junior at Otterbein University in Westerville, OH with a double major in Equine Business Management and Accounting.

Kate originally learned about IEA when she saw a Facebook post 3 years ago about the IEA Dressage Finale at Otterbein when Dressage was still a pilot program. IEA was accepting non-IEA Dressage riders for that event and Kate asked her mom if she could enter. That experience at the first IEA Dressage Finale, getting to ride their awesome horses, and the welcome she received there sealed the deal for her when she was considering colleges and the rest is history.

Kate is a member of Otterbein's Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) Team and in addition to her studies serves as a member of the barn staff. Kate enjoys both Eventing and Dressage and has served as an equestrian camp counselor prior to coming to IEA.

Several years ago IEA established an intern program with Otterbein and we have been the beneficiary of this partnership with a great equine program.

Welcome to IEA, Kate!

The IEA Horsemanship Program is open to any youth member of the IEA.

Participants in the program will complete online quizzes on a variety of topics from Colors and Breeds to Equine Nutrition. The quizzes are released throughout the season, from September through February.

Members who also participate in the riding program will find that the online quizzes will help prepare them for the Region, Zone and National Horsemanship Tests given in person at the competitions.

In May of 2022, each participant will receive a Final Quiz which shall be a collection of questions from various quizzes offered throughout the season. Participants who complete all aspects of the program, and complete the Final Quiz with a passing score of 75% or better, will receive a certificate of achievement and a commemorative shirt.

The horsemanship program also offers a TEAM COMPETITION for teams of 3 or more riders who participate in the program. These riders will have their Final Quiz scores averaged and the team with the highest final score will win BONUS GIFTS provided our generous sponsors.

Do you know a horse - enthusiast who is not on an IEA team, but would enjoy the Horsemanship Program? The IEA offers a Junior Contributing Membership that gives any young person the opportunity to join the IEA without being a member of a team.

Horsemanship Program Fees:

2021-22 IEA COVID-19 Statement
IEA would like to remind event hosts, participants, officials, and spectators that all IEA competitions must operate in accordance with state and/or local requirements relating to the COVID-19 virus and variants. In the absence of state and/or local requirements, IEA will follow the United States Equestrian Federation’s (USEF’s) lead in recommending compliance with CDC guidelines. If they so choose, event hosts may impose more restrictive requirements to help mitigate the risk of spreading the virus. COVID-19 requirements should be listed in the prize list if possible or communicated to
coaches of attending teams at least 48 hours prior to the start of competition. COVID-19 requirements should also be prominently posted on the show grounds.

All persons attending an IEA competition must comply with COVID-19 requirements in place for that competition as well as state and/or local requirements. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the show grounds and/or punitive action assigned by a Zone Ethics Committee. These requirements are effective immediately and subject to revisions as the COVID-19 environment changes. Thank you.
