Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Greetings!

One of the strengths of our parish is our strong sense of community. Many of you have told me that one of the major reasons you come to Holy Spirit is your feeling of belonging. “We know each other by name,” “There is camaraderie,” and “The Body of Christ is alive!” are just a few of the statements I’ve heard.

As we slowly and cautiously emerge from the pandemic, it’s now time for us to renew and strengthen this bond of community that we’ve been so sorely missing for the past 18 months. Read more...

Read on for more information on upcoming events within our parish and around the Diocese.

God Bless,
Fr. Ritche

Act of Spiritual Communion Prayer
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

World Mission Sunday

Next weekend, we will celebrate World Mission Sunday. Pope Francis invites the Church to support mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe, where priests, religious and lay leaders serve the world’s most vulnerable communities. Please keep the Pope’s missions in your prayers. You can donate to help here.
Who is Mary?
Marian apparitions are appearances of the Blessed Virgin Mary, coming down from heaven to earth. These appearances are often paired with some type of message Our Lady wants to communicate, and depending on the nature of her visit, they can be anywhere from one short appearance to several over the course of years. There is always at least one witness to an apparition, and it is not uncommon for the witness to later become a saint or holy figure within the Church. Here are 3 stories of apparitions you might be familiar with. Read more...

Update from Amigos for Christ

Sabrina Bland from Amigos for Christ has sent us a special video on the progress of the Amigos Academy. Holy Spirit played an instrumental role in not only helping fund the Academy but also broke ground and laid the foundations during our summer trips there. How blessed to see how the call to serve is helping those around the world: https://youtu.be/R955CApSn-M
