Recourse to Our Spiritual Mother
As we adjust to changing routines, there are some that will remain – like Mother’s Day, which we celebrated just a few days ago. The singular role of mothers is one that will always endure. Their vocation of nurturing love and protection is one that makes secure individuals and societies possible.

This vocation is also true in the spiritual realm. It was from the cross that Jesus told his mother, “Behold your son,” and turning to the beloved disciple said, “Behold your mother,” (Jn. 19:26-27) entrusting them to each other’s care. Mary took on her maternal role with all the disciples the rest of her earthly life.

Mary continues in this role today. In the words of Pope St. John Paul II, “The Blessed Virgin, having entered the Father's eternal kingdom, closer to her divine Son and thus closer to us all, can more effectively exercise the role of maternal intercession entrusted to her by divine Providence.”

Let us have recourse to our spiritual mother, praying with Archbishop Gustavo, “… See with compassion the suffering of your beloved sons and daughters affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic throughout the entire world. Ask your son to have mercy on us, bringing healing to those infected and protection to all your children …”

Stories of Easter Hope
This Easter Season has brought amazing opportunities to experience the joy of the Risen Lord. We have many stories of good news in the local Church. Here are just a few:

On Monday, May 11, at 2 p.m., the 1942 SNJ “Ole’ Yeller” soared over the San Antonio area for a two-hour flight with Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS who blessed the people of the community. With 30 scheduled locations for a flyover at 1,000 feet, church bells rang at many parishes, as Archbishop Gustavo prayed for the archdiocese during this pandemic. Before the flight, Archbishop announced the re-opening date of parishes for public Masses.

Recurrir a Nuestra Madre Espiritual

A continuación sólo algunas:
