Coastal Bend Day of Giving
|
|
Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 9, 2021 for the Coastal Bend Day of Giving! This is an opportunity for a powerful day of action in raising money for Mission of Mercy and our patients. The amount donated will be matched and doubled, up to $21,800. Just think - a $10 gift becomes $20; a $100 gift becomes $200! Your support can assist Mission of Mercy in raising at least $43,600!
How it works:
-
On Tuesday, November 9th from Midnight to 11:59 PM you can visit www.coastalbenddayofgiving.org, click “Nonprofit” and select Mission of Mercy. Early Giving begins November 1st through 8th.
- Your gift must be at least $10.
- Credit Cards, debit cards, and eChecks are accepted. The eChecks will have a small processing fee.
-
NEW THIS YEAR...Paper checks can be mailed or dropped off to Mission of Mercy but must be received no later than 5 pm on November 9th to count towards the match. Please make the check out to Coastal Bend Community Foundation and add CBCG-Mission of Mercy in the memo line. Checks will be processed by the Coastal Bend Community Foundation and counted towards our match.
Funds raised benefit our programs, services, classes, and clinics!
Every dollar counts!

Mission of Mercy works with various community partners to ensure patients receive the best care possible. Partnership with organizations such as Texas A&M Corpus Christi College of Nursing and Health Sciences benefits both Mission of Mercy and the student nurses who do their rotation here.
Currently we have about 30 nursing students this semester. These students learn every aspect of our clinic from registration, to data entry, triaging patients, and coding patient files. Diana Alvear, LVN and Clinic Director says, "I feel the students get real life experience by talking to and triaging the patients. They start at the front office to understand the importance of communication of patients, phone system, even the data entry program to learn ICD codes. They learn about the diagnosis process the doctors use and how the nurses implement the process and also the outreach that is coordinated with our community partners, like Diabetes Education, labs, counseling, etc.
We are grateful for our community partnerships and for all of these hard working and passionate student nurses.
