FBISD DELEGATION MAKES HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE TOUR
A delegation of Fort Bend ISD high school students and District staff participated in a Holocaust Remembrance Tour last month, visiting Nuremburg and Munich, Germany; Prague, Czech Republic, and Krakow, Poland. The group spent time at several historical stops including the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, Englischer Garten, Nazi Party Rally Grounds and Documentation Center, Charles Bridge, Wawel Castle and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Congratulations to Marshall High School Buffs football player Devon Achane on being named The Touchdown Club of Houston's 2019 Offensive Player of the Year and the Fox 26 Player of the Year. The Buffs continue their push to their second consecutive appearance at the state 2019 5A Division 2 Championship Game as they take on Boerne-Champion in the semifinal round tomorrow, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. at Kyle Field (756 Houston Street, College Station, 77843).  READ MORE
Bush High School’s Navy JROTC was recognized by U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee in honor of the unit’s participation in the second annual Panamanian Veterans Gala. The event paid tribute to U.S. veterans from Panama, and Bush High School provided the Color Guard and an Honor Guard for the event.
Fort Bend ISD is proud to announce that Dr. Danielle Jackson of Marshall High School has been selected to represent the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) as the 2019-20 Texas Assistant Principal of the Year. She will be recognized during the Josten’s Night of the Stars Awards Dinner on June 9, 2020, at the Hilton Anatole Dallas Hotel. During the event, she will receive an award and be recognized in a commemorative book entitled Texas Principals, Texas Heroes . As the Texas Assistant Principal of the Year, Dr. Jackson will represent the state as she enters the National Association of Secondary School Principals National Assistant Principal of the Year recognition program. APPLICATION OPEN FOR 2020-21 FBISD STUDENT VOICE ADVISORY NETWORK
Fort Bend ISD students in grades 9-11 are invited to apply for membership in the 2020-21 cohort of the FBISD Student Voice Advisory Network (VOICES). The application is open through January 15, 2020. Membership allows students to share their ideas and insight with District leaders and the superintendent in various areas, and plan the annual district-wide High School Diversity Conference.
