Academic Advising Update (as of 3.16.20 at 10am)
Sent on behalf of the University Advising Center

Thank you for sharing your questions, advising plans, and student communication to respond to the University’s closure. In an effort to keep the essential nature of advising moving forward, please see below for some general guidance. As always, check with your college, department and/or advising unit for specific information.

Keep Advising: If you have not done so already, please contact your advisees to let students know they should keep their appointment with you in order to be advised. Advisement must be done remotely by email, phone, or virtual means (such as Skype, TEAMs, or other online technology.) Students should not come to campus.

The UAC will also notify students of remote advisement via EAB Navigate and the Advising.sc.edu homepage. If you have any questions regarding EAB Navigate, please contact Brian Dusel [email protected] or 777-5141.

Registration : Please note that the WF date has been changed to 4/6/2020. In addition, Advisors should continue to advise students in the coming weeks as time-tickets and the registration timeframe will not be delayed.

Online academic support services: Some advisors have inquired about available online-support services to which they can refer students. The Student Success Center and other academic support offices will post available resources such as online tutoring on the COVID-19 Student Resources website .

Finally, as the university’s information and plans evolve, please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or suggestions regarding academic advisement. The UAC will collect these inquiries and do our best to respond: https://universityadvisingcenter.wufoo.com/forms/mye16dx05ghj9a/

Thank you again.
