US Youth Ambassadors Program
Program Dates: Summer 2021
Application Deadline: Dec 22, 2020 (Priority Deadline: Dec 10)
The US Youth Ambassadors Program is a 3-week leadership exchange abroad for US teens ages 15-18 and adult mentors, sponsored by the US State Department and administered by World Learning. The program provides full scholarships for students and adult mentors to take part in exchange programs to countries in South America and the Caribbean, focusing on civic engagement, social entrepreneurship, social justice, multiculturalism, and environmental protection. World Learning is also recruiting adult mentors for these exchanges. Intermediate level Spanish is required for all exchanges, except to Brazil. Program organizers are assessing the COVID-19 situation, and may adapt these in-person exchanges to virtual or hybrid if necessary.
