MONDAY MESSENGER WINS SILVER!
We are very proud of the ISPTA Monday Messenger and thrilled that is has been recognized by the Washington State PTA with a Silver Award of Excellence in the Outstanding Newsletter Category. We received the Gold award in the Outstanding E-blast category last year. This year, the Outstanding E-blast category was discontinued and absorbed by the Outstanding Newsletter category. It was a larger pool, and we're super excited to be recognized.

MONDAY MESSENGER EDITOR FOR 2020–21 NEEDED
Here are three
awesome things about editing the Monday Messenger:
- You get to help out the IS community in a huge way!
- You are always in the know about what's going on at IS, in the district, in the larger school community, and in the state school community!
- You can volunteer at home and on your schedule (even in your pajamas, if you feel like it)!
Computer skills, attention to detail, and the desire to know what's going on at International are all you'll need to volunteer as the Monday Messenger Editor.
If you are interested in volunteering as the Monday Messenger Editor for 2020–21, please email the current editor,
Julie Molinari
. She will be happy to work with you into the new school year as you learn the ropes (it's not hard!).

ADVOCACY
Dear Parents and Students,
Do you have an issue or concern that affects youth at a state-wide level? PTSA generates our legislative platform at the grassroots level. Any PTA member is encouraged to submit an issue to PTA.
The current legislative issue platform will be replaced at the 2020 Legislative Assembly. Members will adopt a new Top 5 platform including the additional issues that will comprise the “also supported” list. Even if you don't want to make a submission this year, I think you might find the video (Part 1) informative, because all PTA members can make a difference in their schools, communities and state.
Thanks,
ISPTSA Advocacy Chair
