555 MADISON CONNECTS: COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Welcome to our October newsletter. This month, we explore community connections. We look forward to our October event to mark Halloween and look back at our recent building breakfast held in September and consider other ways to connect as a community. We are grateful to all those who stopped by and said hello and we’d love to hear your feedback on the event.

In our tenant spotlight, we feature Richard Attias & Associates who are experts at creating lasting connections for their clients by producing global events and unforgettable experiences. While Covid changed the format of their events, the overall goal of bringing people together remained —whether virtual, hybrid or in-person. They are thrilled with the prospect of the return to more in-person events and meetings, as are we!

Also in this issue, Aleisa answers your questions.

Thanks for reading!

Richard Attias & Associates Creating Impact
Bloomberg New Economy Forum Produced By Richard Attias & Associates
555 Madison Avenue launched this newsletter - 555 Madison Connects - a year and a half ago as part of an ongoing effort to bring our community together and to deepen the connection between our tenants. Perhaps no one can relate to that more than our tenant Richard Attias & Associates. The global strategic communications advisory firm specializes in bringing people together through meaningful events where ideas are exchanged and lasting relationships are formed. Richard Attias works with corporations, governments, NGOs and nonprofits, and it has offices around the world including one right here at 555 Madison Avenue.

“We have about 30 employees at 555 Madison Avenue. It’s our New York office which hosts project, design, administrative, and community engagement teams,” says Fabien Philippe, the company’s CFO. “I like being in New York. It’s the capital of the world and there is an energy that cannot be found elsewhere.”

Philippe moved to New York in 2012 after a year in Boston but is originally from Paris. He is quite happy to be both in New York and working at 555 Madison which put him and his business in “one of the most attractive cities in the world, with rich and diverse opportunities.”

“We’ve been in the building over a decade and we are really happy here. You cannot get more central than Madison Avenue. The building is so well maintained, the staff is friendly and if we need anything we just call Aleisa and we get the support.”

Philippe has been most impressed and appreciative of the building’s efforts to connect the community and make them safe in light of Covid. “The entire team has gone to great efforts to keep the building clean and safe and to communicate and connect with the community to make them feel comfortable about coming into the building. I appreciate these efforts and how they adjusted in response to the pandemic.”

Richard Attias & Associates also had to adjust business in light of the pandemic. Being agile and willing to pivot has been key to their success in keeping clients happy and helping them fulfill their goals. The fact that Richard Attias & Associates is a global practice also insulated the firm from shutdowns that impacted individual markets at different times during the crisis. They do business in America, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Not everything is contingent on the conditions within a singular market.
“Covid changed our strategy. We quickly turned to producing virtual events which also allowed for greater participation in some cases, removing geographic boundaries for attendance. Now with live programming back, we do hybrid gatherings with key people onsite and larger audiences online. Everything is done to advance the strategic goals of the conference but in a way that is Covid safe,” Philippe explains.

“At the same time, we are planning for tomorrow. There is a bright future and a strong desire for dynamic live conferences. They will come back in full force and we remain committed to producing them.”

Right now, the firm is planning two large conferences: one in Saudi Arabia called the Future Investment Initiative slated for the end of October and another one in Singapore for Bloomberg called the New Economy Forum for mid-November. Highlights from recent conferences are showcased on their website https://richardattiasassociates.com. While Richard Attias is creating connections and communities worldwide, we are grateful that they are also a part of ours.

Dear Aleisa,

I’ve been thinking about driving into work. Are there any garages in the neighborhood with better pricing or with which the building has a special rate?

Sincerely,
On the Road

Dear On the Road,

We don’t have a special rate with a local garage. Parking in midtown comes at a premium and due to the overall congestion in midtown we do not advise driving in if it can be avoided. Most members of our community commute in via subway or bus, given the convenience of our location to multiple stops. We also have a bike room available to all tenants.

Sincerely,
Aleisa
