A PRAYER FOR NOVEMBER
BY SR. HELEN JEAN NOVY, HM, VICE PRESIDENT OF MISSION
I n the spirit of the holiday festival of Thanksgiving,
may we praise, may we rejoice, may we give thanks
and take time for the naming of gifts...
How fitting for November is Mary's Canticle,
her Magnificat of praise, joy, thanksgiving
and prophetic insight. Let us join her with

PRAISE: My soul magnifies the Lord;
My spirit proclaims the greatness of God.
JOY: My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior.
THANKSGIVING: God has done wonders for me.

May we speak and act prophetically
by manifesting some preferential and effective caring
for someone lost or lonely or left out.
May our whole being praise You, Gift-giving God,
for You have done marvels for us
May our joining together in gratitude
witness to our joy in You.
Amen.

Forty-five students are participating in our new 7th Grade Leadership Program, a year-long experiential learning series focused on academics, leadership, and service, designed to deepen students' understanding of Magnificat's core values while developing skills that prepare them for high school. On September 25, our School Psychologist, Megan Rutkowski '98, led the "Learn" session, which focused on developing SMART Goals, tips for high school success, and organization. The theme of November's session will be Service.
