Weekly Director Letter 09/10/2021
Dear Parents,
This was a shorter week than normal but still filled with lots of learning and excitement. I would like to thank all of the parents who volunteered these past few weeks to count and package masks. Kids in Rainbow, VPK, and K-2 will be taking home 60 masks in their bags today. This should be enough to last them for the next 3 months. With regard to masks, I want to thank all of the parents who have been complying with our mask rule and approaching with a mask to pick up and drop off their child or waiting far back so that our staff feels safe. I also want to thank those families who have kept exposed children home to keep all of our students safe.

Most of our families have signed the H1N1/Distracted Driver form. If you have not signed, please take a moment to do so. This is something we must do to be in compliance twice a year with DCF. This week we also informed families of expiring immunizations. Please note that once your child's immunizations/physicals are expired THEY CANNOT ATTEND. We do our best to let you know when they are expiring, but it is really the parent's responsibility to know this.

This week we started our Karate classes for VPK and K-2. Both groups had a fabulous time. At this time the VPK class is full. If you are in VPK and are interested, let me know and I will see if they can add a second class. There are still a few spaces remaining in the K-2 class. I posted a video to Facebook on Wednesday and soon will have it up on our website and will send link to those who don't have Facebook. For those families who have not filled out their paperwork or have not paid the Karate people, please reach out to them by email to get the paperwork or make your payment. They can be reached at [email protected] .

Next week on Thursday, Miami Dade Schools is Closed for a Teacher Planning Day. It is also Yom Kippur. Thursday is a non-instructional day here, we are open but if your child is absent, it will not count against them. As a rule, please let us know at least two days prior if you plan on keeping your child home so that we can plan our lunches accordingly.

Finally, on Monday the annual supply fee will post to all accounts. You can expect an auto-debit account to see it come out Tuesday. For VPK and K-2, there is a second supply fee in February. This first one covers items like textbooks.

Have a great weekend,
Beth Rosenthal Davis
