eUpdate - June 17, 2020
Reopenings: Hair Salons/Barbershops, Indoor Religious and Funeral Services, RV Parks and Swimming Pools
Health Officer still recommends staying home as much as possible
The Contra Costa Health Officer has issued a new Health Order which continues to open more businesses and activities, effective today.

Here is a summary of the new re-openings:
  • Indoor Religious and Funeral Services - with no more than 100 attendees or 25% of an area's capacity (whichever is less) subject to State Guidelines
  • Outdoor Swimming Pools - maximum pool occupancy is one swimmer per 75 square feet of pool space with the maximum allowable pool occupancy posted near the entrance; and at least one person (separate from a lifeguard), paid or unpaid, shall be on duty to ensure that social distancing guidelines are followed. This person may not be one of the swimmers in the pool. When outside the pool, face covering and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
  • RV Parks - subject to state guidelines.
  • Hair Salons and Barber Shops - Nail salons are not covered by this re-opening. A date for their opening will be announced soon.
Additional information on the expanded business activities is here and State Guidelines for pools and RV Parks is here.

In the aftermath of recent business re-openings, the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations has slightly increased in Contra Costa County.   That's why the Health Officer still recommends that we stay home as much as possible.

Slowing the spread of the virus as we re-open depends on us!  Health experts strongly recommend that we follow these four science-based best practices:
  • Frequent daily hand washing and use of hand sanitizer
  • Physical distancing of at least 6 feet
  • Wearing a face covering whenever outdoors or around others
  • Staying home if you have symptoms, and getting tested
Thanks for following the Health Orders and helping us slow the spread of COVID-19 and saving lives.

We're stronger together!
Sincerely,
