iPad Filtering Update

This week the Diocesan IT Department pushed out an update to our firewall, which resulted in a need for further testing with our current filter on the Youtube site.  We use many of these videos for educational purposes.  Prior to this update, we could open specific videos and leave the remaining closed.  We were informed that it is now all or nothing with Youtube - either it remains open or it remains closed.   

At this time, we have decided to leave it open for the remaining 23 days of school but will be monitoring student use very closely and will contact parents should any inappropriate activity occur.  We ask for your partnership in monitoring student use of the Youtube site.  We are working with the Diocesan IT Department to set up parameters to keep it open between 8am - 5 pm Monday through Friday and closed evenings and weekends.  We hope they have this fully configured next week.  

Know that our St. Francis of Assisi IT Department will be working this summer on a better solution for next school year to ensure the safety of our students!
