GENERAL
FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
Curbside pickup of a free breakfast and lunch is available 7:30 am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday. Come to the Gate 3 entrance before Basswood where the line forms outside the gym. This program is open to any student 18 and under and recipients do not need to be enrolled in PVPUSD. No pre-order required. All meals include an entrée, choice of milk and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Menus are at pvpusdschoolnutrition.net.

NHS
Members of the National Honor Society who were unable to drop off their blanket donation for the Boys & Girls Club should immediately contact the NHS board at [email protected] and copy Mrs. Borstel at [email protected] to arrange for a drop off. Third quarter service project will be announced soon.
 
SENIOR PORTRAITS
If you have not had your senior picture taken, upload a portrait to eShare with the school code 7435 so it may be placed in the yearbook. Deadline to submit is Friday, Feb. 12. Follow the detailed instructions for taking a portrait here.
 
CSF CLASS OF 2022
As a junior member of California Scholarship Federation, you will be automatically added to the CSF Team for Board applicants if you have been a member of CSF every semester so far. If you choose to apply for an elected office, please follow the guidelines on the notice. If you do not want to apply for an elected office, do not respond. Deadline to turn in applications is TOMORROW, Feb. 5. Email Mrs. Okamoto at [email protected] with questions and information.
 
FOOD & FUNDS
Enjoy some Hawaiian food and help the PTSA at the same time on Sunday, Feb. 14 from 11:00 to 3:00. Come to Big Island Eats at the Promenade, mention the PTSA when you place your order and a percentage of your total will be donated to our PTSA. Big Island Eats is owned by a Peninsula High family.

READY FOR ROMANCE BOOK CLUB
Brighten this dreary winter with a light-hearted rom-com. Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian is the first book in the Ready for Romance Book Club. Despite the title, it's not a cotton candy confection. Members will meet virtually around Valentine's Day to share their observations and ice cream.
 
COFFEE WITH THE PTSA BOARD 
The PTSA Board is hosting their first Coffee Clatch next Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 9:00 am so they may get to know you. Register here.
 
CAPS & GOWNS
Seniors may place orders for graduation caps and gowns, class rings, and letterman jackets online. Click here to download the brochure which includes additional details and the order form. NOTE: if you order the basic package, which includes cap, gown, tassel and medallion, the cost is $40 plus tax and processing fee. It is in the green section of the order form under "Senior Pride" and is listed as "Cap and Gown Unit." If you purchase this unit, you keep the cap, gown, tassel and medallion. Students may also use a loaner gown, cap, medallion at no cost. To use the loaner package, which is paid for by our school, fill out the form here by Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. If you choose the loaner package, all items must be returned to Peninsula following the graduation ceremony. Orders may be placed at moongradservices.com.
 
PTSA BOOK CLUB
Meet with Panther families to discuss The Color of Law at the first PTSA Book Club meeting on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Zoom. The Color of Law details how federal housing policies in the 1940s and 1950s mandated segregation and hindered Black families from buying their own homes. Shereen Walter, Director of Legislation for the state PTA and Carol Kocivar, past president of the California PTA and current legislative advocate are the guest facilitators. Register here.
 
A.I. SUMMER SCHOOL
AI Scholars Live Online is a 10 session, pre-college enrichment program that exposes 9th to 12th grade students to fundamental AI concepts. Taught by a team of Stanford graduate students, each participant receives a personalized learning experience with a student-teacher ratio of 4:1. There are multiple dates open for both the spring semester and summer school programs. Students may apply here by February 15 for the spring semester and learn more by perusing the brochure. P.E.F. DRAWINGS
Support the Peninsula Education Foundation with a donation of $1,500 or more and you will be entered into monthly drawings for a prize. February's prize is dinner for two at Arthur J in Manhattan Beach and a bottle of Dom Perignon. Go to pvpef.org to donate.

COLLEGE ESSENTIALS TOOLKIT SERIES
"Show Me the Money: Tips, Secrets and Strategies to Get More Money for College" is the topic for the next College Essential Toolkit virtual series on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 pm. Ms. Stephanie Hancock, founder of College Aid Consulting, will review various aspects of financial aid. This is National Gun Violence Survivors Week and the Students Demand Action club want to share information with you. The Gun Law Navigator is the largest historical database of modern U.S. gun laws.
