Changes to Paycheck Protection Program
- Extend the covered period for loan forgiveness from eight weeks after the date of loan disbursement to 24 weeks after the date of loan disbursement, providing substantially greater flexibility for borrowers to qualify for loan forgiveness. Borrowers that have already received PPP loans retain the option to use an eight-week covered period.
- Provide a safe harbor from reductions in loan forgiveness based on reductions in full-time-equivalent (FTE) employees for borrowers that are unable to return to the same level of business activity the business was operating at before Feb. 15, 2020, due to compliance with new requirements.
- Remove the limits on loan forgiveness for small businesses that were unable to rehire employees, hire new employees or return to the same level of business activity as before the virus.
- Expand the 25% cap to use PPP funds on non-payroll expenses, such as rent, mortgage interest and utilities, to 40% of the total loan. That lowers the 75% requirement for payroll expenses to 60% to get maximum forgiveness.
- Borrowers can qualify for partial loan forgiveness if less than 60% of the PPP loan is used for payroll.
- Extend the loan terms for any unforgiven portions that need to be repaid from two years to five years.
- Extend the period for when a business can apply for loan forgiveness, from within 6 months to within 10 months of the last day of the covered period, before it must start making interest and principal payments.
Applications are still being accepted for PPP
SBA approval has to be complete by June 30, 2020.
Businesses should give their lenders enough time to process and enter the applications, so we encourage businesses to get their applications in as soon as possible.
To apply, follow these steps:
- Verify your business’s eligibility.
- Review the application and gather the necessary materials such as payroll tax filings, proof of lease payments, proof of mortgage payments, and proof of utility payments.
- Get in contact with your accountant and/or bank that pays out your business’s payroll. Ask your lender if it is authorized to process your Paycheck Protection Program loan. If you are not connected to an authorized lender, find an eligible lender here. We have also compiled a list of Colorado SBA approved lenders. If you are struggling to find a lender, please contact our hotline at (303) 860-5881.

Peak Form Medical Clinic Integrates Contact-less Temperature Screening Kiosk for Patients and Staff
|
Peak Form Medical Clinic, an essential business providing worker’s compensation injury care, physical therapy, and drug screening throughout the pandemic has instituted the use of a contact-less kiosk to accurately measure temperature of
patients and staff to aid in the check-in process to further minimize exposure risk in clinic.
The device includes a function which will identify staff and automatically log their temperatures prior to starting their shift. In addition, patient’s temperatures will be checked prior to entering the clinic, and the kiosk will be able to detect whether patients are wearing a mask and if not, the
device will verbally prompt them to put one on.
“We feel the investment of instituting the kiosk speaks directly to our mission and will provide patients and employers we partner with the confidence to continue to seek the medical services they need,” says Jeanette Hrubes, owner and CEO.

The Clinic has all CDC recommended safety guidelines in place to protect patients and staff; such as wearing masks and reducing the number of people in the clinic at any one time to maintain social distancing. The use of the high-tech kiosk will further enhance the protections to safely provide comprehensive care with a personal touch through promoting the health and
productivity of workers, their families and communities.

As businesses continue to open and there is an increased availability of COVID-19 testing, Weld County may see an increase in the number of residents and employees that test COVID-19 positive. The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment (WCDPHE) continues to investigate positive cases, notify employers of possible exposures, and provide recommendations for each unique scenario. There are situations where employers will learn of employees who tested positive before WCDPHE conducts their investigation. For this reason, prior to implementing control measures such as closure and employee testing, we encourage businesses to consult with public health for recommendations, guidance, and assistance.
