TIPS TO HELP YOU AND YOUR SKIN COPE WITH
MASK WEARING

Hale & Hush, my Sensitive Skin Specialist product line, recognizes these concerns and is having a limited time SALE  on key items to help these conditions. I wanted to share them with you  while supplies last .  I am awaiting my order as you are reading this newsletter so will be able to provide them to you very soon!

1.  Masks - Your disposable mask should fit snuggly, but if it is causing facial bruising then it is too tight and needs to be adjusted.  If you are wearing a homemade/cloth mask, be sure to wash it daily in regular detergent. I personally do not recommend washing cloth masks in bleach since it is snuggly worn on your skin and because bleach may break down some materials.

2.  Face Washing – In the morning, wash your face with a gentle cleanser like Hale & Hush's Quiet Wash .  Quiet Wash does much more than cleanse.  It gently showers skin with an expert blend of botanical extracts that combats inflammation, irritation, itchiness and redness.   Quiet Wash is a sale item!

3.  After cleansing, apply a moisturizer.  You can wear a light-weight one like  Hush Hydrate .  It has a delicate and moisturizing formula.  Its black rice extract is a potent anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic compound, bringing peace to aggravated skin.  If your skin is extra dry, you can put a little of the Hush Hydrate underneath your heavier Hale & Hush or Osmosis moisturizer.
Hush Hydrate is a sale item!

4. There is dry, irritated skin and then there is skin under attack ! If it is screaming then we can quickly rescue it with different options.  Hale & Hush’s  Relief Bio-Powder (another sale item)  has willow bark, oat kernel, boswellia and calamine in it.  You can make a paste with it by adding some water and applying it like a mask to any aggravated areas or breakouts.  You can also mix this powder in with the  Hush Hydrate moisturizer and apply it before mask placement. By itself, the powder is also a redness reducer and camouflages skin. Hale & Hush's Soothe Essence is an amazing serum that also brings great relief!  I have other solutions as well, if your skin is really raw or super irritated.  I am only an email away: lorimurt.healthyskin@gmail.com
5.  Makeup – If you are using one of my two mineral-based make up lines, the pressed powders would serve as a double benefit.  They contain only healthy ingredients without talc (which clogs the pores), dyes, fragrances, and parabens. Both lines have a good amount of the physical sunscreen, Zinc, which provides you with sun protection, as well as can help acne.  Apply a dusting of this before leaving the house and wearing your mask.

6. Sunscreen – Yes you still need to protect your skin even with the mask on.  Guys, the Hale & Hush  Broad Spectrum spf30 moisturizer and the Osmosis Protect spf30  are both untinted.  But a lot of men also like that tiny bit of tint that blends right into the skin and takes the redness down. The  Suntegrity  is a lightly tinted moisturizer with 30 spf and a great solution.  You can also put the  Hush Hydrate and/or Relief Bio Powder  underneath these!  Any of these are good options for all to protect your skin from UV rays, especially while getting some fresh air!

7.  Once done with the Mask for the day - It is time to again wash your skin with  Quiet Wash  and apply the  Hush Hydrate. If your skin needs more moisture, you can add your other Hale & Hush or Osmosis moisturizer on top.

8.  Hand protection – Please wear disposable gloves when cleaning and disinfecting surfaces. Cleanse your hands for at least 20 seconds with regular soap (preferably not anti-bacterial soap) after removing the gloves.  Hand washing is the best way to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.  We are washing our hands more than ever these days and we need to protect them from unnecessary dryness, irritation and cracks in the skin.  As I have likely discussed with you on a prior occasion, anti-bacterial soap is not as healthy for your skin for a couple of reasons.  Most importantly, it can cause bacterial resistance by killing off the good bacteria on the skin.

So stay healthy and know that I am here for you!    Please do not suffer in silence with your skin.   Just email me and I will get back to you or set up a time to talk/FaceTime. Pictures of your skin are always helpful too in that initial email! Lori
