Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the unexpected passing of my beloved father, Calvin B. Ball, Jr., at the age of 78 on Sunday, October 10.
Fathers and sons often form relationships that only grow stronger as they grow older. Throughout my life, my dad and I created and sustained that special and unbreakable bond. He remained a pillar of strength, not only for me but for my mom and our entire family.
My dad was a dedicated Vietnam-era veteran who fulfilled his deep commitment to our country by serving in the United States Air Force. His military service and his family were amongst his proudest achievements. As a child, he was my larger-than-life superhero, deeply devoted to my growth and well-being. Even into adulthood, he remained my superhero as well as my best friend.
No matter how old we are, losing a parent is so hard. However, I’m grateful for the life my father led, the family he loved, and how he showed us how proud he was each day.
As I mourn my father’s passing and reflect on his life, I ask that you remember to let your loved ones know how much you love and care for them every day. I sincerely appreciate your condolences, and I ask for grace and privacy as my family and I continue to mourn privately during this challenging time.
