Attendance:
● Consistent attendance is important to your child’s continuity of learning.
● Our program is rich and diverse. All classes (core academics and co-curriculars) are part of your child’s experience. Please assist them in attending all sessions in e-Learning.
● Whether in on-campus or in e-Learning we look forward to seeing your child in class and supporting their growth and development.
● Attendance is taken every academic day and becomes part of your child’s record in FACTS.
Label, Label, Label:
● Please label all your children’s belongings. We want to be able to return their things to them and with their name clearly marked it makes this possible. Due to restrictions with COVID-19, there is “No Lost-But-Not-Yet-Found” this year.
What happens when a student is early or late?
● If your child is late to school or needs to be picked up early, please send an email to your child’s teacher and Dr. Melissa Hocate (melissahocate@css.org), our Health Coordinator located in the Early Childhood Center (ECC), to notify them of your plans. Then, arrangements can be made on our end for a smooth transition to or from school.
Car Seats for our Younger Students:
● PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade need appropriate car seats in order for us to dismiss your child at pick-up. We cannot put them in the car without a proper car seat. You can pull up and park and put them in the car yourself, but given our current pick-up protocols, this is quite challenging. Click here to learn more about child car seats.
Masks and Social Distancing:
● In light of our Community Pledge, we will all be wearing masks and social distancing.
● Mask breaks will be incorporated into our school day.
● Please make sure your child has a minimum of one clean mask at school each day. A back-up mask is a good idea. Given current research, gaiters are no longer acceptable at school.
● We will be practicing social distancing. In true Kodiak fashion, we are presenting this as a bear’s distance apart! Teachers will be assisting students with what this looks like at school.

Lunch from Maytag Dining Hall:
● All Children School children need to bring snack and lunch to school next week, the week of August 31st.
● Detailed information about ordering a school lunch will be shared in the days to come. If you would like to order lunch for the week of September 8, it must be ordered by Wednesday, September 2.
● Ordered lunches will be delivered to your child’s classroom. They will eat as a class or picnic outside when possible.
Sunscreen:
● On our Over the Counter webform in FACTS, parents give their permission (or not) for sunscreen to be applied to their child. If you have granted this permission, please make sure your child has sunscreen (labeled with their name) at school.
