Climate change is a significant factor driving the occurrence of natural disasters. As climate change continues to influence the frequency and severity of disasters, cultural and natural resources are exposed to forces for which they were not originally designed. A traditional approach to disaster recovery, informed by the past, may no longer be enough to restore and protect our cultural and natural resources.
A new series of five learning activities on the Common Learning Portal introduces the relationship between climate and natural disasters and provides an overview of what you may encounter while serving as a Disaster Recovery Field Coordinator.
