Happy Dog Days of Summer everyone! First and foremost, WE HAVE NEW BYLAWS! Thank you so much to all of our members who voted to approve our updated chapter bylaws. It has been one of the biggest goals for our chapter, and we literally could not have done it without you!
I’d also like to thank all of our members who turned out to welcome the new DART President & CEO, Nadine Lee at our welcome reception on August 17. It was so nice to see everyone in person as well as have such a strong showing of our DFW Chapter!
Despite an already busy summer, we show no signs of slowing down! We’ll take a well deserved break for Labor Day Weekend, then we’re back in action with the next in our Diversity Conversations series on September 21. This time we’ll be focusing on the experience of our LGBTQ+ women in transportation. We’ve also got our rescheduled High Speed Rail Policy Forum co-hosted by our friends at COMTO. Last but not least, we're hosting our Annual Awards and Scholarship Banquet at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History on October 1! This year we’re rolling out the red carpet, so get those fancy dresses and tuxedos ready!
Finally, I’d like to encourage you all to consider volunteering with us here at WTS. As we re-enter some semblance of normal, we really need our members to help us carry on our mission! Consider joining a committee, signing up for a committee chair, or even running for a leadership position! The 2022-23-chapter elections will be here before we know it! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!
