The Road Less Traveled

What a difference a week makes.  Last Saturday I was marching through the streets of Aledo standing with strangers.  Today I am preparing to meet my granddaughters for the first time.  Those two events may not seem connected, but they will be forever...

"Pounding" for Pastor Trigg

One of our Methodist traditions is to "pound" our outgoing pastor. Pounding is                celebrating and giving the pastor a pound of flour, a pound of sugar, (disposable            paper products in 2020) etc. to help as he moves to his new home. "Pounding" is an      example of the graciousness and generosity we Methodists show to others.

Stay Connected With Your Aledo UMC Family

Aledo UMC  has heeded the warnings from health officials and temporarily closed the church offices for the foreseeable future. We are still the church, so here are several ways for our AUMC family to stay connected through the week:

Sunday
9:30 am - Adult Sunday school - Facebook Live (Aledo UMC Page)
11:00 am - Worship - Facebook and aledoumc.org

Wednesday
6:00 pm -  "Unintended Consequences"  - Facebook Live (Aledo UMC Page)

Thursday
10:00 am - Dialogos Bible study - Zoom (contact Pastor Lee to join the class)

Weekdays
Aledo UMC Morning Devotional - Aledo UMC Facebook page
Children's Moments - Aledo UMC Children's Ministries Facebook page
Electronic Giving

As we move into virtual worship and other gatherings for the foreseeable future, now is a great time to connect with online giving to ensure that the ministries and outreach of the church are not interrupted.
There are two basic ways to give electronically, and both are quick and simple.
  1. The best option is to give via a direct transfer from your checking account. This is fee-free for you and the church. Simply fill out the accompanying ACH form and send it in to the church office along with a voided check. You can mail it to Aledo UMC, PO Box 126, Aledo, TX 76008.
  2. Or you can text "aledoumc" to 77977. This will connect you to a service called PushPay, which will allow you to give electronically to the church using either a credit card or debit card. You will receive a text back with instructions guiding you through setting up your gift. You can give either a one-time gift or set up weekly or monthly giving through PushPay.
