Community Urged to Report Sightings of the Spotted Lanternfly |
State agricultural officials are urging the public to keep an eye out for and report sightings of the spotted lanternfly.
This invasive insect is a threat to Massachusetts crops including grapes, apples, peaches, and maple syrup.
Currently, only one small infestation in Fitchburg has been reported, and the closest siting of a single fly was in Woburn. However, officials stress that early identification is critical to controlling spread in the state. Even sightings of a single spotted lanternfly should be reported.
Click the link below to familiarize yourself with how the lanternfly looks at each of the four stages of its life cycle and for information on how to report a sighting.

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Community Health Needs Assessment Survey 2021 |
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) is conducting its Community Health Needs Assessment, which takes place every 3 years, and they want to hear from Lexington residents.
They will collect information from a community survey, focus groups, interviews, and other data, which will allow them to prioritize the health needs of the community and develop programs and policies to address these needs.
Hearing from local residents is critical to their process and also helps local officials and organizations design programs and services to address unmet community needs.
Please complete the community survey below and share with other Lexington residents.
The survey data will be confidential and respondents will have the opportunity to enter into a drawing for a $100 gift card. It should take about 15 minutes to complete. The survey is open from now until November 15.
