National Monument Audit
A project of Monument Lab in partnership with The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the National Monument Audit assesses the current monument landscape across the United States. RIHPHC contributed data about Rhode Island monuments to the study.

The National Monument Audit reveals "the dynamics and trends that have shaped our monument landscape, to pose questions about common knowledge about monuments, and to debunk falsehoods and misperceptions within public memory."
America's Top 50? These are the 50 individuals with the most public monuments in the United States.

Remembering Carole Cornelison
RIHPHC mourns the loss of our colleague Carole Cornelison, Director of Rhode Island's Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance. Appointed to lead DCAMM in 2015, Carole was instrumental in the preservation of our State's historic buildings, from restoration projects at the Rhode Island State House to the exterior restoration of the Old State House. She also led a years-long effort to identify a new use and developer for the historic Cranston Street Armory in Providence.
