Neighbors Announces Winner of 4th Annual May We Pay Your Mortgage Contest
Neighbors is proud to name Emily Stearns of Port Allen as our fourth annual May We Pay Your Mortgage contest winner. Participants were invited to enter by engaging with Neighbors through social media. The contest had more than 3500 entries this year.

"Winning our mortgage paid for a month will allow us to use what we would be paying for the mortgage and put that money back into the house," Stearns said. "We'll be able to put it either towards needed home improvements or furnishings."

The contest was open to anyone within the nine-parish Greater Baton Rouge area with a mortgage loan, not just NFCU members. However, Stearns and her husband have both bee long-time members of Neighbors FCU.

CSE Surpasses Goal of 75 Random Acts of Kindness in May
CSE FCU commemorated its 75th anniversary with a commitment to 75 random acts of kindness in the month of May. Announced in late April as the "MAY We Help You" campaign, 100% of CSE's employees were given $50 or more to go out in their communities to spread goodwill and joy by completing random acts of kindness for strangers. To date, over 115 kind acts have been accomplished!

The "MAY We Help You" campaign is just one way of giving back to the communities that have supported CSE through the years. The only thing requested once the acts were carried out by CSE employees, was the encouragement for others to participate and pay it forward.

Some examples of the acts of kindness included paying off student lunch debts at a local elementary school, donating baskets of treats and games to the ICU waiting areas of local hospitals, providing pizza for local teachers and daycares, donations to families in need and paying for strangers' meals, groceries, frozen yogurt, bus tickets and more.

President/CEO Clark Yelverton says of the campaign, "I was so excited and proud to find out that 100% of CSE's staff signed up to participate in the 'MAY We Help You' campaign... But my heart was overwhelmed when the stories of all the acts of kindness started to come in, and I saw how much of an impact we can make in the lives of people in our communities. Another example of the credit union motto 'People Helping People' put into practice!"
Campus Federal Volunteers Support Dreamnight Event at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo
Campus Federal volunteers partnered with Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge and BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo for the 13th Annual Private Dreamnight event at the Zoo, which is an invitation-only event for children impacted by pediatric cancer and their families.

The Zoo was closed to the public to allow the children and their families to experience an evening of fun at no cost, presenting a chance to escape their current struggles. They were able to enjoy the Zoo after-hours and experience special animal presentations, face painting, circus performances, and food and refreshments. Campus Federal's cooking team prepared and served jambalaya for the 200 plus guests in attendance.
