There are some things that are not meant to be heard, one of which
being your HVAC system.

Sound from fans being transmitted by the duct system can be quite
loud if the right combinations are not selected when building your system.

Depending on location and your preferences, Aaon offers several
ways to customize your ideal noise solution.

  • Unlike selection software that lists only one fan option for a given size unit, Aaon selection software gives the user the ability to pick from multiple combinations so that the fan system selected best fits their needs.
  • The Aaon array of backward curved plenum fans, offers improved efficiency, quieter operation, superior uptime, a smaller footprint and greater flexibility than comparable air moving devices in the HVAC industry.
  • Compressor and condenser fan noise has the capability to radiate
not only to the neighbors but also through the occupied zone.

    • Aaon can provide Digital, VFD or Staged compressors, to match building requirements and provide your desired level of sound.
    • Aaon provides VFD's for the condenser fans reducing fan noise at all temperatures below the design day.  Aaon can also provide "super quiet" condenser fans for those projects that have lot line restrictions.

Simply put: in regard to anything in the unit that creates sound -
we have options.

After choosing your design, Aaon provides the opportunity to have your
specific unit tested for noise level to ensure it is exactly what you want.
The NAIC lab is the only one in the U.S. located at the manufacturer's facility.

  • 5.1.1 denotes field verification of outdoor intake flow during operation
  • 5.1.1.1 denotes VAV/multi-speed CV systems require a means to adjust minimum ventilation airflow under any load condition or dynamic reset condition
  • 5.3.2 denotes use of airflow measurement in VAV systems to maintain minimum ventilation rates for code compliance
