HPED Welcomes Plant Roots to Havertown!
HPED is excited to welcome a new indoor plant shop to Havertown – Plant Roots at 1327 Darby Road in the Brookline Business District!

Owner Gina Ranieri grew up in Overbrook Park has lived in Haverford Township for the past 22 years, raising her three children here. “I’ve had a number of jobs over the years, from working with troubled teens in Philly to working on a farm, but my husband and I and our partner launched our building and home renovation company Ranieri and Kerns over twenty years ago, and I serve as the business manager,“ explains Gina. “I am excited about this new venture as a way to combine my background in business, my love of plants, and my involvement with the community.”
Help us select our 2021 Awards of Excellence Winners
HPED will be giving out several annual awards at our Annual Meeting on October 20th, and we are asking the public to nominate businesses for the Standing Ovation Award.

The Standing Ovation Award is presented to a business of the highest standards, offering exceptional customer service, an attractive, welcoming environment, and engagement in the community life of Haverford Township.

Businesses who have won in the past are ineligible to win for the next five years. Past winners include Kettle, Brick & Brew, and House Cup Coffee Roasters. You can nominate up to three businesses by emailing info@hped.org. A public run-off of the businesses who received the most nominations will determine the recipient.
We have sold nearly $35,000 in gift cards, and $21,000 of those have not been used yet! Our businesses don't benefit until the cards are used, so make a plan to use yours this week!

Here are some special offers by participating businesses:

  • 10% off at BLVD
  • Buy a bag of coffee with your card at House Cup Cafe and get one 1/2 off in September (free cup of coffee, too!)
  • 10% off first membership at Crossfit MFP
  • $5 off a 5 class pass or $10 off a 10 class pass at Positivity Yogis (regular priced 5 or 10 class pass/Not valid on sales or specials); one per customer
